Graduate Certificate in Workplace Occupational Health Systems and Programmes
The Graduate Certificate in Workplace Occupational Health Systems and Programmes is offered as a part-time Graduate Certificate (GC) that comprises 12 units, which can be stacked toward the Master of Public Health.
Courses
- Workplace Safety and Health: This course provides an overview of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), focusing on risk control and preventing work-related illnesses and accidents. Students evaluate strategies for promoting workplace safety, ensuring compliance with legislation. They develop skills to assess hazards, implement controls, and understand legal requirements, preparing for real-world WSH challenges.
- Dates: 05 – 09 January 2026, Monday to Friday
- Time: 8.00am – 6.00pm (SGT)
- Public Health at the Workplace: This course allows students to apply public health strategies and considerations to manage health issues and related challenges in the workplace setting. Students will learn about the issues that influence both the health of the worker and the worker’s ability to work in different settings, and the approaches to addressing these issues.

- Enterprise Occupational Health Practice: Workplace health is an important part of Public Health. Workplace and Occupational health professionals often function within the Enterprise space. Good practice in workplace health is a process of continuous improvement of health, environment and safety and inside and outside of an enterprise.

Learning Objectives
- Apply the fundamental approaches and principles of WSH in order to conduct workplace occupational safety and health assessment.
- Explain the relevant legislation about WSH to interested parties and employers.
- Explain the importance of workplace health promotion and how it will benefit employers and employees
- Identify and explain how various Occupational Health & Safety Systems, the role of OH clinics and the business perspectives of workplace health are important for sustainable and working programmes to stakeholders.
- Apply appropriate principles and frameworks to minimise human error, investigate OHS incidents and develop a safety culture at the workplace.
- Evaluate the emergency medical and pandemic preparedness of a workplace; and the role of the workplace in infectious and chronic disease control.
- Appraise key public health systems at the workplace.
- Describe and apply the linkages of the determinants and the approaches to safeguard the health and fitness of the working population.

- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
- Candidates with other qualifications and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval.
