Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics

The fields of health informatics and analytics improve healthcare processes and solutions through the collection, organisation, and analysis of health data. It drives the transformation of public health, healthcare, and health research, and plays a critical role in collaboration among healthcare providers.


Courses

  • Information Technology in Healthcare Participants will learn to propose and evaluate IT solutions that address real-world healthcare challenges, making them valuable contributors to innovation and transformation in health systems.

  • Analytics for Better Health This course aims to introduce the data analytics techniques that are commonly needed for healthcare data and healthcare problems. Investigating the unique challenges and considerations of implementing data analysis for healthcare problems. Focusing on developing predictive models for various healthcare applications. Participants will be introduced to commonly used predictive machine learning models, their learning mechanisms, and methods to picking the most suitable model. Emphasising conduct of causal inference studies with retrospective healthcare data. Various causal inference techniques will be introduced.

  • Informatics for Health In an era where technology and healthcare converge, ‘Informatics for Health’ stands at the forefront, guiding healthcare professionals through the digital landscape to transform care delivery and public health. This course bridges theory and practice, exploring the critical role of informatics in healthcare innovation, from the principles of digital transformation to the nuances of service design and systems-level shifts.

Who Should Attend?

A Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with other qualifications and relevant work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Note: Meeting the admission requirement does not imply an automatic admission into the programme.
