He received his B.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management Engineering from the De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. He is currently a Professor at the National University of Singapore and the Director of the Advanced Robotics Centre.
