The Professional Certificate in Sustainability for the Built Environment is a comprehensive program designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop sustainable solutions for the built environment.

What You Will Learn

At the end of the course, participants will acquire the following competencies:

• Develop an understanding and appreciation of international and local developments in the sustainability landscape and innovative/cutting-edge technologies
• Develop an understanding of embodied and operational carbon, with a particular focus on ACMV systems and building energy performance
• Explore various adaptation and mitigation strategies aimed towards building decarbonization
• Develop an understanding and appreciation of carbon management and Carbon Impact Modelling
• Develop an understanding of smart buildings and smart facilities management
• Develop an understanding of green finance for the built environment

Who Will Benefit

The program is designed for technical officers who are involved in three broad functions - urban planning, engineering/building design, and facilities management.

Entry Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma holders in Engineering, Science or Technology, or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture preferred.
• For Diploma holders, relevant work experience will be required.

Award of Certificate

The Professional Certificate comprises of 4 courses. Participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion for each short course upon fulfilling all requirements for each course, including minimum 75% attendance and passing the end-of-course assessment. Participants will be awarded a Professional Certificate when they have completed all required short courses with a Certificate of Completion within 36 months.
