Overview
The Innovation & Design Programme (DP) is an undergraduate programme offered by the Engineering Design and Innovation Centre. The programme aims to train graduates with an entrepreneurial mindset who understand innovation and are able to apply their knowledge and skills to solve problems or design new products, services, and experiences.
Programme Structure
In the DP, students from different disciplines learn various tools and processes for ideation and design by working together on hands-on projects that have real-world impact. Those who are keen on entrepreneurship are encouraged to further develop their projects for commercialisation. Students can work on projects from a wide range of themes such as:
- Healthcare
- Urban mobility
- Sustainable cities
- Smart living
- Intelligent systems
The DP is designed for students who aspire to be technopreneurs or are keen on hands-on project work.
Programme Offerings
The DP is open to students from all disciplines. It is offered as a:
- Second Major in Innovation & Design (cohort AY2017/2018 onwards)
- Minor in Innovation & Design (cohort AY2021/2022 onwards)
Students who complete the DP will graduate with the Second Major or Minor along with a primary major from their own discipline.
