Graduate Certificate in Child & Family Health in the Community
The Graduate Certificate in Child & Family Health in the Community (GCCFH) aims to upskill the competency of Registered Nurses, Allied Health, Social and Education professionals in alignment with the Ministry of Health (MOH) strategic direction to provide holistic and comprehensive support to women and their children to attain good health and well-being.
Programme Overview
This programme addresses the interactions among social, cultural, educational and health services factors that influence the health of populations of women, children, and families.
Aims of Programme
The programme aims to broaden the key learning constructs and deepen and advance a healthcare professional’s skills in child and family health management in the community.
Programme Structure
The programme consists of 4 courses, offered over 2 semesters. The structure allows for flexibility and recognition of learning at each stage:
- Completion of All 4 Courses:
- Upon successful completion of all 4 courses with a minimum GPA of 2.50 (cumulative across all courses), students will be awarded the Graduate Certificate in Child & Family Health in the Community.
- Partial Completion (Exit Before All 4 Courses Completed):
- If a student exits the programme before completing all 4 courses, they will be awarded a Certificate of Competency for each course they have successfully completed, provided they achieve a minimum GPA of 2.50 for that course.
- Stacking Towards Certification:
- Each course completed with the required GPA contributes toward the overall Graduate Certificate.
- Students who initially exit early but later return to complete the remaining courses (within the specified maximum candidature period) can stack previously earned Certificates of Competency towards the Graduate Certificate, as long as the cumulative GPA requirement is met.
