MSc Student Exchange Programme

The MSc Student Exchange Programme (MSc SEP) is open to both full-time and part-time MSc Civil Engineering students. This program provides a transformative experience that extends beyond the classroom.

Selection Criteria

Students will be assessed based on a weighted average of their GPA and Personal Statement as part of the review process. In addition, applicants must meet:

  1. The Faculty’s internal application criteria
  2. The partner university’s requirements for study abroad or exchange programs, such as:
  • Minimum GPA or academic performance
  • Language proficiency (if applicable)
  • Number of semesters completed at the home university

Transfer of Credits

Courses taken in the Partner University will be credit transferred to the NUS MSc program with grades.

Insurance

Students going on exchange are strongly encouraged to purchase personal insurance.

Withdrawal from SEP

Once a student has accepted a SEP offer, they are expected to complete the exchange. If a student wishes to withdraw, they should submit a formal withdrawal request to the CEE Department with a valid reason. An administrative fee will apply for students who withdraw without valid reasons after accepting the offer on the partner university’s website.

Travel Advisories

Visit the MFA website for travel advisories on various countries from the Singapore government.

Application Process

  1. Briefing Session: A briefing session will be held at the start of each application period. Students will be notified of the details via email.
  2. Research and Plan: Begin by researching and drafting a preliminary study plan. Ensure that the academic calendar of the partner university aligns with the NUS academic schedule to avoid any overlap.
  3. NUS: Online Application & Interview: To apply for the MSc exchange, students must indicate their interest by completing the online application form.
  4. Partner University: Nomination and Approval: The department will submit the list of nominated students to the respective partner universities for their review and approval.

Important Dates to Note
