Program Overview


Overview of Graduate Certificate in Digital Water

The Graduate Certificate in Digital Water is a program designed to integrate digital technologies into the water sector. It is suitable for consultants, government officers, water resources, and project managers. The program aims to provide practical skills and a deeper appreciation of the implications of digitalization on the profession.


Eligibility

Applications are open to individuals with a Bachelor's degree and relevant professional experience.


Application and Deadline

The application for the January 2026 intake opens on October 6, 2025, and the deadline is November 3, 2025. The application for the August 2026 intake is scheduled to open around May 2026.


Period of Candidature and Award of Graduate Certificate

The maximum period of candidature is 2 years. The award of the Graduate Certificate is upon completion of 12 units with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.50 out of 5.00.


Alternative Pathway: Admission to Master of Science Programme

Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate program, graduates with a GPA ≥ 3.00 may apply for a relevant MSc program, subject to approval by the host department. Successfully completed courses with a grade point ≥ 3.00 may be transferred, up to a maximum of 12 units.


Course Fee and Refund Policy

The course fee is SGD 1,450 (before GST) per unit of the course. For a 100% refund for course registration cancellation, cancellation must be made in writing 14 days before the first day of the lecture.


Course Requirements

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Digital Water, students must complete at least 12 units of courses, including:


  • CE5310AB: Hydroinformatics
  • CE5315AB: Climate Science for Engineers
  • CE5316A: Water Resources for Smart and Liveable Cities: Introduction
  • CE5316B: Water Resources Modeling for Urban Catchments
  • CE6077A: Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering
  • CE6077B: Numerical Methods for Environmental Flows

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering reserves the right to make changes to the schedule. Registered students will be informed accordingly, ahead of time. SkillsFuture Credits and SSG funding are not available. The timetable is subject to change, and registered students will be informed if there are any changes.
