Program Overview
Overview of Graduate Certificate in Structural Engineering (GC SE)
The Graduate Certificate in Structural Engineering (GC SE) is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to create sustainable, resilient, and liveable future cities and communities. This program offers a unique and holistic training experience, covering topics in state-of-the-art developments in structural materials, advanced design and analyses of engineering structures, modern construction technologies, as well as retrofitting and assessment solutions to optimize the life-cycle cost of structures.
Admission and Fee
Eligibility
Applications are open to individuals with a Bachelor’s degree with relevant professional experience.
Period of Candidature
The maximum period of candidature is 2 years.
Course Fee
The course fee is SGD 1,450 (before GST) per unit of course.
Refund Policy
- For 100% refund for course registration cancellation: Cancellation must be made in writing 14 working days before the first day of lecture.
- Cancellation request is subject to approval by the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
- Fees paid are non-refundable after the above-mentioned period.
Application
Application for the January 2026 intake will open on 6 Oct 2025.
Deadline
The application deadline for the January 2026 intake is 3 Nov 2025.
Award Certificate
Award of Graduate Certificate
Upon completion of 12 Units with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.50 out of 5.00.
Alternative Pathway – Admission to Master of Science Programme
- Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate programme, graduates with an overall GPA ≥ 3.00 may apply for a relevant MSc programme, subject to approval by the host department.
- Submission of MSc programme application is required.
- Successfully completed courses with a grade point ≥ 3.00 may be transferred, up to a maximum of 12 Units.
- Units transfer within 5 years from the award of Graduate Certificate.
