Practice Module for Analytics Project Management
The Practice Module for Analytics Project Management is part of the Graduate Certificate in Analytics Project Management. The module has two objectives:
- To expose participants to realistic problems they may encounter in the workplace
- To enable participants to demonstrate their proficiency across all skills learned in the course modules
The module consists of two parts:
- Practice Project: Participants will undertake a project to gain practical experience and demonstrate their understanding and mastery of skills taught in the four component courses.
- Examination: Each participant is required to sit for an examination on a stipulated date and time.
The practice project will require each participant to expend an estimated 10 days of effort. The projects are conducted in groups of 4-5, allowing participants to exercise teamwork and make independent individual contributions.
Typical examples of projects that can be undertaken include:
- Developing a project management plan highlighting key deliverables and risks to the project
- Delivering a real-time dashboard to monitor customers' calls and feedback
- Documenting and reviewing a data governance policy framework for the protection of customer data
- Reviewing and developing fundamental statistical techniques to analyze customers' data to improve turnaround time to attend to customers' needs
The application process for the practice module includes:
- Eligible participants will be contacted 1 week after application closure
- Participants are only allowed to take the practice module after completing all courses in the Grad Cert
- Participants who wish to take the practice module concurrently in the same semester with the courses in the same Grad Cert must write to the university citing reasons by the application deadline
- Participants who miss the application window will have to apply for the practice module in the next semester
- Participants who do not attend the briefing will be withdrawn from the practice module
