Technopreneurship Course

The Technopreneurship course provides an overview of the ecosystem and policies to support entrepreneurship and incubating start-ups. The course covers:

• Ecosystem and Policies to support Entrepreneurship and Incubating start-ups
• Introduction to the venture management through a mix of experiential learning
• Singapore experience and JTC Launch Pad - a vibrant community for start-ups and incubators in the biomedical sciences, infocomm, media, electronics and engineering industries
• Key challenges faced in starting a venture
• Introduction to the “StackUp”, which is a curriculum in our Executive Education to transform individuals into aspiring technologists
• Skills required - from attitude and aptitude to technical competencies

Learning Objectives

The course aims to:

• Provide policy makers and officers with an appreciation and understanding of critical factors for incubation and technology entrepreneurship
• Offer officers a hands-on, skill-building experience and a mindset shift
• Cover the major elements of start-up or entrepreneurship activity, focusing on key challenges faced in starting a venture

Target Participants

The course is designed for government officials with 8-10 years of experience in civil service who are responsible for policy development for Technopreneurship as a strategic national initiative for their country. Proficiency in spoken and written English is expected.
