Executive Fellowship in Sustainable Healthcare
The Executive Fellowship in Sustainable Healthcare is a 1-year, part-time Graduate Certificate programme designed for senior leaders and working professionals in healthcare or sustainability. The programme provides advanced training in clinical carbon footprinting, change management, and leadership skills to accelerate the transition to sustainable healthcare.
Programme Overview
The programme combines in-person classes with online asynchronous learning, making it ideal for busy professionals. The curriculum consists of two advanced courses: Net Zero Analytics and Implementing Net Zero Healthcare. These courses cover critical carbon analytical skills, life cycle assessments, and change management strategies to drive sustainable healthcare practices.
Academic Coursework
- The programme consists of two advanced courses (4 units each):
- Net Zero Analytics: Students develop the ability to measure the carbon footprint of clinics, hospitals, and health systems using data-driven tools.
- Implementing Net Zero Healthcare: Combining conceptual frameworks and insights from policy and industry experts, this course equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to drive change at multiple levels.
Thought Leadership Sessions
- Hear directly from pioneers on personal leadership journeys, career transitions, strategic influence, and the softer skills needed to navigate complex change in this series of fireside chats.
- These sessions are designed to complement the academic coursework with real-world leadership insights, global perspectives, and stories of implementation from the field.
Networking & Mentorship
- Join a global network of Sustainable Health Fellows developed in partnership with the NHS and the US Diploma of Climate Medicine to facilitate knowledge exchange between the UK, US, and Singapore.
- Be mentored by a leader in healthcare sustainability, with pairings assigned based on shared interests to gain meaningful and personalised insights.

Programme Information
The Executive Fellowship in Sustainable Healthcare is a 1-year, part-time Graduate Certificate programme suited for executives in healthcare or sustainability who seek to learn key analytical and leadership skills to influence, manage, and operationalise sustainable healthcare within their organisations.
Course Fees & Financial Aid
- Total tuition fees (for students enrolled in Academic Year 2026/2027): S$16,350 (inclusive of 9% Goods & Services Tax (GST)).
- The payment schedule (in SGD) is as follows:
- Year 1 Semester 1: S$10,646

CoSM Catalyst Initiative
The Centre for Sustainable Medicine (CoSM) is proud to offer the CoSM Catalyst Initiative, an 80% rebate on tuition fees for its Executive Fellowship in Sustainable Healthcare programme for Academic Year 2026/2027. This initiative aims to support outstanding leaders who are advancing sustainable and equitable healthcare in response to the urgent challenges of climate change from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC).
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Possess at least five years of work experience in the healthcare or climate sector, or a related field.
- Be a citizen of and employed by an organisation in an LMIC.
- Demonstrate a strong track record in leadership, innovation, and sustainability.
- Have applied to the Executive Fellowship in Sustainable Healthcare.
- Apply before the application deadline: 9 Mar 2026, 11.59pm.
Supporting Documents
As part of your application, you will need to:
- Submit a short statement of purpose (maximum 300 words) answering the following question: How do you envision this fellowship empowering you to drive sustainability in healthcare, and what specific impact do you plan to create and implement to transform your organisation or industry?
- Attach a signed official letter of endorsement from your organisation highlighting your leadership potential and the organisation’s commitment to supporting your future in healthcare sustainability.
Selection Process
- The rebate will be awarded based on merit, impact potential, and leadership capability.
- CoSM reserves the right to withdraw or withhold the rebate if no suitable candidates meet the selection criteria.
Terms & Conditions
- Awardee must not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships, bursaries, or awards.
- Awardee is required to maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 out of 5.0 for all coursework.
- Awardee is to actively participate in all Executive Fellowship activities, including workshops and networking sessions.
- If the awardee decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, a repayment will be imposed.

- Q1: What is the difference between the Executive Fellowship programme versus the Master of Science in Sustainable Healthcare?
- A: The Executive Fellowship in Sustainable Healthcare is designed for working professionals with prior experience, placing an emphasis on advanced carbon analytics and change management, while providing the flexibility to learn at your own pace. The MSc provides students with the foundations and skillsets needed to lead healthcare’s response to climate change.
- Q2: What is the duration and commitment required for the Executive Fellowship?
- A: The Executive Fellowship spans 1 year and is a part-time programme, with one course per semester. The expected number of class hours for each course is 3-4 hours weekly for 13 weeks. In addition to the courses, there will be thought leadership sessions every 6 weeks and mentoring engagements throughout the programme.
- Q3: Is attendance for all leadership and networking events required for me to graduate from the Executive Fellowship?
- A: Satisfactory completion of the two courses (total of 8 units) will result in the award of a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Healthcare. However, attendance is required for induction into the Centre’s Sustainable Healthcare Leaders’ Network.
- Q4: Will classes be conducted online, in-person or using a hybrid format?
- A: The Executive Fellowship has been designed for busy professionals in mind, who value flexibility in setting their own pace for learning. High-quality recordings and course materials will be made available online for you to view at your own time, and those based in Singapore may also attend classes in person at our National University of Singapore, Kent Ridge Campus.
- Q5: When are the classes for the Executive Fellowship held? Are there any weekend classes?
- A: Classes will primarily be conducted during the day on weekdays on-campus at our Kent Ridge campus, while facilitated workshops and lab sessions with instructors will be held in the evenings. Recordings of these classes will be made available for viewing asynchronously. Leadership and Networking events will primarily be conducted on weekday evenings, Singapore time.
- Q6: Is there an ideal candidate profile for the Executive Fellowship? Do I need to have a clinical background to take the programme?
- A: We welcome senior and emerging professionals, and leaders with demonstrated track records who are interested in deepening their skills in healthcare sustainability. Relevant background knowledge and experience in this field, or adjacent fields such as public health, public policy, social sciences and environmental sustainability, are considered advantageous. Candidates with other relevant qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Q7: What is the Sustainable Healthcare Leaders’ Network?
- A: It is a global network of professionals working in the field of sustainable healthcare. The network provides you with access to Faculty and Affiliates of the Centre for Sustainable Medicine, previous Fellows who have completed the Executive Fellowship, and pioneers in healthcare and sustainability fields. Joining the network will allow you to expand your professional connections and be part of a community of thought leaders and changemakers within the industry.
- Q8: Are there any events organised by the Executive Fellowship that participants must attend in person?
- A: No, there are no compulsory in-person events as part of this Executive Fellowship. Where possible, events will be made available online for participants to join in no matter their location.
- Q9: What is the minimum grade required to be awarded the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Healthcare?
- A: Participants will be required to obtain at least a B- grade (equivalent to a minimum GPA of 3.0) for both courses to be awarded the Graduate Certificate.
- Q10: I am an international participant residing overseas. Can I apply for a Student Pass to reside in Singapore for the duration of the programme?
- A: No. Executive Fellowship participants are not eligible to apply for Student Passes. To apply for a Student’s Pass, you must be accepted into an approved full-time course in Singapore. Part-time courses and courses conducted in the evening or on weekends are not eligible. For activities organised by the Centre where in-person attendance is encouraged, these events will not last for longer than 10 consecutive days.
