The Professional Certificate (PC) in Applied Geographic Information Systems (GIS) includes a course on GIS Spatial Analysis. This course is designed to provide students with knowledge of geospatial data analytics and skills for analyzing location-based data.

What You Will Learn

This short course covers the following components:

1. Introduction to Basic Spatial Analysis methods and Spatial Statistics/Network Analysis/GeoAI Analysis
2. Hands-on practicals of Spatial Analysis

Objectives

Students will gain knowledge of geospatial data analytics and skills for analyzing location-based data such as point pattern analysis and road network analysis. This course will cover common data analytics knowledge and skills demanded by the geospatial industry, preparing students for learning deeper GIS topics and performing advanced industry-relevant GIS tasks.

Entry Requirements

• At least 1 year of working experience in the related sector is preferred
• Candidates with other qualifications and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by the Department
