Programme Objective
This programme is designed to provide targeted training in industrial hygiene. The certificate holders, after this training, will be a competent industrial hygiene practitioner with strong realistic-problem solving skills.

This graduate certificate programme is hosted by NUS Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering to provide targeted training in Industrial Hygiene.

Programme Structure
- Each course will have 39 formal contact hours. Classes may be conducted on weekday evenings or on Saturdays.
Assessment
Modes of assessment comprise combinations of some or all of these items:
- Quizzes / Term papers /Projects
- In-class participation
- Final exam / Presentation

Award of Graduate Certificate
Individuals who have successfully completed the 3 courses (equivalent to 12 units) with a GPA of at least 2.5 will be deemed to have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate Programme. Such individuals will be awarded a Graduate Certificate. There will be no continuation requirements.
- Participants may repeat courses to improve GPA provided the max candidature is not exceeded.
- Students who do not take examinations or fail to attain a GPA ≥ 2.5 will be given a Certificate of Participation, listing the courses taken if attendance is at least 70% for the listed course.
Admission to Master of Science (Safety, Health and Environmental Technology) Programme
- Students who graduate with a GPA ≥ 3.0 may be considered for admission to M.Sc. SHE programme.
- A maximum of 12 units of courses (each course with a minimum grade of B-) may be transferred to the MSc SHE programme, subject to approval. The validity period of the transfer is not more than 10 years from the award of the Graduate Certificate.
- An application for transfer of credits must be submitted within the first two instructional weeks of the semester upon enrolment into the Masters candidature.
Programme Fees
- S$5,800 per course (subject to 9% GST)
- Singapore SkillsFuture Funding is not applicable
Eligibility
- The programme is open to graduates with at least a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- The programme is open to Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents and International Students. As this is a part-time programme, International Students must currently reside in Singapore with a valid work pass.
