Second Major in Systems Engineering

The Second Major in Systems Engineering is a transdisciplinary and integrative approach to engineering and engineering management, focusing on the design, build, integration, and management of systems over their life cycles. This major helps students navigate complexity as systems become increasingly interconnected and integrate the technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Programme Overview

The Industrial Systems Engineering and Management (ISEM) Department offers the Major in Systems Engineering (Sys Eng Major) as a Second Major, part of NUS' Special Undergraduate Programmes, for students from all other faculties and schools. The programme has been available since August 2008.

Course Requirements

• For students admitted to the Second Major in Systems Engineering programme, there is no minimum academic performance threshold required to remain in the programme.
• Students are strongly encouraged to plan their courses well to complete the programme requirements.
• Declaration of 2nd Major/Minor should be done before the start of the 5th semester.
