Program Overview


Introduction

The MSc in Quantitative Finance (NUS-SJTU MQF) program is offered by the Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore (NUS), in collaboration with the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Students spend their first semester studying at the NUS campus and complete the rest of the program at the SJTU campus.


The program aims to develop talented graduates with an international outlook and high foreign language proficiency levels, who have in-depth knowledge in quantitative finance and are capable of tackling practical issues of the financial industry in China, Asia, and the rest of the world.


The MSc in Quantitative Finance degree is awarded by NUS, and a certificate is issued by SJTU.


Programme Structure

This program is a 40-unit program consisting of five essential and five elective courses. Each course carries 4 units and comprises 12 sessions of 3-hour lectures, continuous assessments, midterms, and final exams. The five essential courses are offered by NUS. Students may choose any five elective courses from the list of elective courses offered by NUS and SJTU. A student who enrolls in this full-time program can complete it within one to two years.
