Program Overview


Master of Science (Project Management)

Introduction

The Master of Science (Project Management) [MSc (PM)] programme was established in 1986, making it one of the oldest project management programmes in the world. It aims to provide professionals with the sound management skills and techniques necessary for the successful completion of complex projects in different industries and infrastructure. Participants from overseas feature strongly on all intakes, and the wide mix of expertise allows for meaningful exchange and interaction at graduate level.


Programme Details

The programme has two tracks:


  • Normal track (3 essential courses + any 4 PM courses + 3 UE courses)
  • Specialisation track (3 essential courses + any 5 specialisation courses + 2 UE courses)

Students are encouraged to take UE courses from other faculties that suit their professional specialisations.

Unrestricted Elective (UE) Courses

A list of courses is available, and PM courses can also be used as UEs.


Each graduate course is typically assigned 4 Modular Units.


The programme operates on Full-Time (one year) and Part-Time modes (two years). It is taught by senior faculty members and industry experts.


Admission Requirements

  1. At least a bachelor’s degree with honours in a relevant discipline or a bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience
  2. Preferably at least 2 years of relevant post-graduation experience
  3. A good TOEFL / IELTS score or equivalent if the medium of instruction is not in English

The above are minimum requirements and do not guarantee admission. Selection of candidates for admission is on a competitive basis. Admission decisions are based on multiple considerations, including the number and quality of applicants and the capacity of the programme applied to.


Programme Schedule

  • Number of Intakes: Two per academic year, in January and August
  • Application deadlines: 1 October 2025 to 28 February 2026 (August 2026 intake)

Fees

  • Total Program Fees (inclusive of 9% GST): $49,050
  • Acceptance Fee (inclusive of 9% GST): $5,450
  • Academic Load:
    • Part-Time: $10,900 per semester
    • Full-Time: $21,800 per semester
  • Subsidies / Financial Aid: CDE Global Fellowship

A non-refundable application fee of $109 (inclusive of 9% GST) must accompany the online application.


Students are also required to pay a Miscellaneous Student Fee (MSF) to the University on a semester basis. Fees are reviewed annually.


Classes

  • Mostly evening classes (7 pm - 10 pm)
  • Some afternoon classes (3 pm - 6 pm)
  • Part-Time students attend 2 or 3 classes per week, and Full-Time students attend 4 or 5 classes per week

Fee Rebates

  • NUS Alumni / Singapore Citizen (SC) / Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR): 40% rebate

Continuation and Graduation Requirements

  1. Fulfil all course requirements (40 Units) within the maximum candidature period (4 semesters for Full-Time and 6 semesters for Part-Time)
  2. Achieve a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.00

Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate programme, graduates with an overall GPA ≥ 3.00 may apply for the Master of Science (Project Management) programme, subject to approval.
