MSc in Quantitative Finance (NUS-SJTU MQF) Program Details
The MSc in Quantitative Finance (NUS-SJTU MQF) is a graduate program offered jointly by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU). This program provides advanced training in quantitative finance, aiming to equip students with a strong background in mathematics or quantitative finance to follow the syllabus with ease.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must possess or expect to obtain an Honours degree (or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree) in a discipline with strong quantitative training, such as:

- Physical Sciences
- Equivalent degrees with a strong mathematical background
Additional requirements include:
- English proficiency: Applicants whose medium of undergraduate instruction is not English must pass TOEFL (minimum score required is 85) or IELTS (minimum score required is 6.0). The validity of each test score is 2 years from the date of examination.
- Candidature Period: Full-Time, 1 – 2 years (2 – 4 semesters)
Application Procedure
The application procedure involves the following steps:
- All applicants should apply online via the Graduate Admission System.
- Applicants should browse the User Guide before applying.
- All supporting documents must be uploaded (in .pdf format) by the application closing date. Official English translations should accompany supporting documents that are not in English.
- Applicants no longer need to send hardcopies of the supporting documents as these documents can be uploaded into the application portal for retrieval.
- Fraudulent/Inaccurate/incomplete applications will not be processed.
- Applications and/or payment received after the closing date will not be processed for that intake.
- No candidate may concurrently be a student for more than one degree or register as an NUS candidate of another university/institute.
- Shortlisted candidates may be required to sit for an interview. They will be informed of the details in due course.

- Identification: Singapore NRIC (for Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents) or Passport Information Page (Front) (for International Applicants)
- Academic Records: University Transcript, Degree Scroll / Student Status Letter
- English Proficiency: Valid TOEFL/IELTS Score
- Financial Proof: Bank Statement / Payslip / Sponsor’s Letter

Course Fees
The course fees for the program are as follows:
- Application Fees: SGD 100 (online, non-refundable, and payable when submitting application materials)
- Tuition Fees:
- August 2022 intake: CNY 220,000
- August 2023 intake: CNY 260,000
- August 2026 intake: Program fees are currently under review
- Miscellaneous Student Fees (MSF): A mandatory fee levied by NUS for all students enrolled in its programs, which includes registration fee, examination fee, computer account fee, and class fee (copyright)
- Per Course Fees:
- August 2022 intake: CNY 22,000
- August 2023 onwards: CNY 26,000

- Tuition Fees: Paid directly to SJTU
