Program Overview


Program Overview

The MSc in Data Science for Sustainability is a graduate program offered by the Department of Statistics & Data Science at the National University of Singapore.


Program Structure

The program follows a modular system, with courses organized and taught on a semester basis.


Continuation Requirement

To continue in the Master’s programme, a student may not have:


  • GPA below 3.00 (but more than 2.50) for three consecutive semesters; or
  • GPA below 2.50 for two consecutive semesters.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fees for the program are available on the university's website. Apart from tuition fees, there is a Miscellaneous Services Fee that is compulsory and payable in every regular semester.


Courses

The program offers various courses, including core and elective courses. The course list varies among semesters, but the overall pattern of offerings remains largely similar.

Course Schedule

Each graduate coursework level course usually comprises three hours of lecture per week.


Examinations

Examinations for level 5000 or higher courses are scheduled by the Faculty. The exam venue and seat number will be released one week before the first day of the exam period.

Leave of Absence and Withdrawal

Existing students who wish to take a break from their studies are required to apply for Leave of Absence (LOA) through EduRec. Students who wish to withdraw from a programme should also apply through EduRec.

Transcripts and Degree Scroll Matters

The Office of the University Registrar is the only office responsible for issuing transcripts and degree scrolls.


Conferment Date

The conferment date depends on when the student has fulfilled their graduation requirements.

GPA Computation

GPA is computed based on all the courses taken by students (except for English language courses and Completed Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (CS/CU) course) throughout their entire candidature for graduation.

Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for keeping their personal particulars updated in the University’s records in a timely manner throughout their candidature.
