The Graduate Certificate in Theatre, Film and Literature is a program offered by the Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore.
Program Description
Analysis of theatre, dramatic literature and film has long been a primary strength and focus of the TPS programme, which offers several courses exploring and applying the latest methods of investigation and comparative analysis. Delving into a range of traditions, including the work of Asian and Western playwrights and filmmakers, these courses examine what narrative media have in common, such as storytelling, character and dialogue, while also foregrounding intersections, exchanges, historical antagonisms and transference between forms and genres. Courses in this area draw upon TPS’s key sources of expertise in topics like play analysis, intermedial relations, Singaporean film, adaptation and Shakespeare in Asia.
