Program Overview

Program Overview

The Kings College London-NUS Joint PhD Programme is a unique opportunity for students to study at two locations, Singapore and London. This programme allows students to be close to their field of study, conduct research in a familiar environment, and develop their thesis with the guidance of two thesis advisors.

Programme Structure

  • Students begin their PhD at NUS, under the supervision of a designated advisor.
  • After completing local fieldwork, students move to London to begin their writing process, receiving supervision from a second advisor.
  • The programme provides access to two libraries, a network of international scholars, academics, and practitioners, and the opportunity to become part of a research group.

Benefits

  • Having two thesis advisors gives students a fresh perspective on their research, allowing them to develop their thesis further and articulate their ideas and theories to different readers.
  • The programme broadens students' worldviews, providing them with more knowledge and experiences that redefine them as researchers and individuals.

Department and Faculty

The programme is offered by the Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies, within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the National University of Singapore.
