Program Overview

The Department of Japanese Studies at the National University of Singapore offers a Single Major program in Japanese Studies.


Program Requirements

To major in Japanese Studies, students need to:


  • Pass JS1101E, which will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.
  • Pass at least 44 units of JS courses or JS-recognised courses or LAJ courses, which include:
    • JS2101
    • JS3101
    • LAJ1201
    • LAJ2201
    • LAJ2202
    • LAJ2203
    • a minimum of 20 units at level-3000 or higher (including JS3101)

Notes

  • Students who are waived from LAJ course(s) should read JS course(s) to make up the minimum units required.
  • LAJ4203 and LAJ4205 cannot be counted towards JS major requirements.
