Master of Medicine (Paediatric Medicine) Program
The Master of Medicine (Paediatric Medicine) program is designed to prepare applicants for the Final Master of Medicine (Paediatric Medicine) [MMed (Paed Med)] / MRCPCH (UK) Clinical Examination.
Program Overview
The 4-day full-time course provides opportunities to hone communication and consultation skills, including short cases and developmental assessment. The teaching faculty comprises local Consultants and a Visiting Lecturer. Course participants are expected to complete preliminary readings before the course commencement.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a recognized basic medical degree and be practicing in Singapore.
- Have passed the MRCPCH Foundation of Practice and MRCPCH Theory and Science examination.
- Have passed the MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice examination.
- Observe the MRCPCH (UK) Clinical Examination rules and regulations.
- Have completed 24 months of posting requirements at the time of examination.
Posting Requirements
Applicants must have completed at least 24 months of hospital postings, including:
- At least 12 months of General Paediatrics and its relevant Paediatric medical specialties' postings.
- At least 4 months of Neonatology posting.
- At least 8 months of recognized elective postings, which may include Paediatric subspecialties or General Paediatrics.
Admission
Each diet of examination is capped at 48 examination placements. Priority is given to eligible applicants in the Paediatric Medicine Residency Training Programme in Singapore, followed by applicants who apply for both Final MMed (Paed Med) Exam and MRCPCH Clinical Exam.
Application
Separate online applications are required for the respective examination(s) and must be submitted by the stipulated closing dates. The following documents must be attached to the online submission:
- Endorsement Form for local doctors in Paediatric Medicine Residency Programme.
- Recent passport-sized photograph.
- Certified true copy of recognized basic medical degree.
- Identification documents (NRIC, Employment Pass, Passport).
- MRCPCH Foundation of Practice and MRCPCH Theory and Science result letter.
- MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice result letter.
Fees
The program fees are as follows:
- Application fee: SGD 87.20.
- Programme fee (inclusive of Examination fee): SGD 5,182.80.
- Payment modes: PayNow, Credit/Debit card.
Withdrawal Policy
All withdrawal and refund requests are subject to a 10% administrative charge capped at SGD 500.00. Refunds are considered under the following circumstances:
- Medical: Refund request must be accompanied by a medical certificate.
- Pregnancy: Refund request must be accompanied by a medical report.
- Involvement in an accident: Refund request must be supported by evidence such as a medical report and/or police report.
- Compassionate grounds: Bereavement in the immediate family, supported by relevant documents.
Course Details
The course dates are from Monday, 28 April 2025 to Wednesday, 30 April 2025, and Friday, 2 May 2025. The application period is from Friday, 7 February 2025 to Friday, 28 February 2025.
CME Points
CME points will be awarded to doctors registered under the Singapore Medical Council (SMC). The number of points to be awarded is subject to the discretion of SMC.
