Program Overview

Program Overview

The Nurse-Midwifery program at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing is a master's program that focuses on the education of nurse-midwives. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to practice as certified nurse-midwives.

Program Description

The program is based on the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) core competencies for basic midwifery practice. The faculty uses an evidence-based approach to teaching midwifery competency, and students are encouraged to actively participate in their education through a problem-based learning approach. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of midwifery practice, including the Midwifery Model of Care, and to prepare them for careers as certified nurse-midwives.
