Iowa MSW Program
Overview
The Iowa Master of Social Work (MSW) program is designed to provide students with the skills and versatility needed to advance their careers as therapists or organizational and community leaders.
Program Details
- The program can be earned entirely online or in-person at three locations: Iowa City, Des Moines, and Sioux City.
- The program is flexible and can be completed at a pace that suits the student.
- No GRE is required for admission.
- The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and has a licensure pass rate of 90.4%, compared to the national average of 73%.

Accreditation
The University of Iowa MSW program has been continuously accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1951.
Assessment of Learning Outcomes
The program has a systematic plan for ongoing assessment of student achievement of the nine social work competencies. The program assesses each competency using at least two instruments, at least one of which is based in real or simulated demonstration of student achievement in field education.
