Mission Statement

The mission of the University of Iowa Health Care dermatology residency training program is to produce physicians who will be future leaders in the field of dermatology. The primary aim is to develop residents into clinicians who can practice dermatology in health care resource-limited rural communities throughout the Midwest. A secondary aim is to emphasize the development of intra- and interprofessional communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Accreditation

Accreditation of individuals trained in Dermatology is provided by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). To be eligible for examination, one must have satisfactorily completed 12 months of broad clinical training (PGY-1) and a formal residency training program in Dermatology of at least 36 months.
