Overview
The Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship Program at University of Iowa Health Care aims to train fellows who will be capable of independently leading a molecular genetic pathology laboratory.
Program Goals
The goal of the fellowship program is to provide exposure to a broad array of tests and test methods across the spectrum of molecular genetic pathology, including:
- Assay development
- Laboratory management
- Clinical genetics rotations
- Teaching staff and students
Program Structure
The program is designed to gradually increase the level of responsibility and difficulty of tasks assigned to the fellow, based on their starting level of expertise and speed of learning.

Program Details
The program accepts applications for 2027–2028 and 2028–2029. The fellowship program provides a comprehensive training experience, including:
