Master of Information Management (MIM) Program
The Master of Information Management (MIM) program equips students with the latest analytical, technical, and leadership skills to deliver actionable insights, manage cybersecurity and information risks, oversee information assets, understand ethical considerations, and become information industry leaders. Students can choose to focus on Data Science & Analytics, Cybersecurity & Risk Management, or create a custom focus.
Program Overview
- The MIM degree requires 36 credit hours.
- 4 Core Courses (12 Credits) are required of all students, providing a foundation of skills and knowledge related to technology, information, and management.
- 8 Additional Courses (24 Credits) develop advanced knowledge and skills in data science and analytics, cybersecurity and risk management, and leadership and innovation.
- Three tracks are available: Data Science and Analytics, Cybersecurity and Risk Management, and Flexible Individual Program Plan.
Curriculum
- The program offers a flexible mix of modalities (in-person and online) and schedules (daytime and evening).
- Students can complete the program as quickly as two years or enroll part-time.
- Electives allow students to focus on their area of interest and develop expert-level skills tailored to careers in data science, analytics, cybersecurity, and risk management.

- Admission to the INFO College’s graduate programs is through the University of Maryland Graduate School, with supplemental program-specific application criteria and materials.
