Course Offerings

ECON433: Economics of Big Data

The importance of big data in the global economy is rising. Students will explore the definition and characteristics of big data, the impact of big data on individuals, use of big data by firms, entrepreneurs, and non-profits, as well as how big data reshapes various public policies.


Prerequisites/Rules:

  • Prerequisites: Minimum grade of C- in ECON326 and 1 course with a minimum grade of C- from (ECON321, STAT401).
  • Restrictions: Must be in one of the following programs (Economics Bachelor of Arts; Economics Bachelor of Science; Economics minor; Social Data Science-Economics).
