MA Program in Economics
The MA program in Economics at the University of Waterloo fosters students' capacity for economic analysis through rigorous instruction in economics theory and econometrics. The program offers a renowned co-op option, allowing students to gain 8 months of paid work experience during their MA program. Graduates of the MA programs have gone on to hold prestigious positions both inside and outside of academia.

Program Structure
The program structure varies depending on the option chosen:
- MA Co-op: 9 courses + MRP, with co-op terms in Spring (S) and Fall 2 (F2)
- MA: 7 courses + MRP
- MA Water: 8 courses + MRP
- MA Water Co-op: 8 courses + MRP, with co-op terms in Spring (S) and Fall 2 (F2)

Degree Requirements
The Master's Research Paper (MRP) is equivalent to 2 full courses.
