Program Overview
The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) – Mitacs Internship Program aims to connect Canada’s growing quantum industry with highly trained undergraduate and graduate students in quantum information.
Program Details
Eligibility
- Interns may be undergraduate or graduate students, postdocs, or recent graduates at any level from IQC
- International students studying at IQC with study permits are eligible, but please discuss details with the visitor program manager before filling in appointment forms.
Internship Duration and Location

- Minimum stipend is $10,000 CAD for four months
Program Objectives
The IQC-Mitacs Internship Program helps partner organizations with the highly trained interns from IQC who have access to significant resources from the University of Waterloo, including a suite of core scientific infrastructure facilities such as the Quantum-Nano Fabrication and Characterization Facility (QNFCF). The program provides students with exposure and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world problems of interest in the quantum industry, see the impact of quantum information in an industry setting, learn professional skills, and develop technical skills to prepare to transition to meaningful and fruitful careers in industry settings.
