Program Overview

Mechatronics Engineering Degree

The Mechatronics Engineering degree at the University of Waterloo is a unique program that combines mechanical design, control systems, programming, and sensor technology to create intelligent machines. This program is the first of its kind in Canada and provides students with hands-on experience building real devices, solving real problems, and pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve.

Program Overview

  • The program is offered as a co-op only, with no regular program option available.
  • The degree is a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Students will have access to cutting-edge labs and tools, including the WATiMake lab, which features laser cutters, 3D printers, injection moulding machines, and other tools to help with prototypes and design projects.
