Program Overview

The University of Waterloo's Department of Civil Engineering offers a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Civil Engineering, a coursework-based degree option that can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis. The program is designed for enthusiastic, curious, and hard-working individuals who are keen to expand their knowledge and upgrade their technical background with a graduate degree.

Admission Requirements

  • An honours bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a 75% standing.
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score (only for those applicants who completed their degree outside of Canada or United States).
    • Note: GRE is waived as a requirement for winter 2026, spring 2026, and fall 2026 admission cycles.
