Application Deadlines

  • February 1 (for admission in September)
  • Note: If interested in multiple Economics MA programs, submit one application for the most desired program. Consideration for other Economics master’s programs will be given if not successful in the desired specialization.

Admission Requirements

  • An honours bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a 75% average.
  • Strong preparation in economics and mathematical tools, including:
    • Advanced microeconomics
    • Advanced macroeconomics
    • Advanced econometrics
    • Mathematical economics
    • Equivalent to two terms of calculus and one term of linear algebra.
  • A GRE score is not required but is recommended for all international students applying to the program.

    • TOEFL 90 (writing 25, speaking 25)
    • IELTS 7.0 (writing 6.5, speaking 6.5)
    • The Department of Economics does not consider international applicants whose English language proficiency scores fall below the minimum requirements.
