The Master of Taxation (MTax) program is designed for graduates from Canadian business programs and working professionals, such as chartered accountants or certified financial planners, who are interested in pursuing a career in tax. This innovative graduate program connects skills and knowledge from each course and work-related activities, providing broad-based competencies in tax subject areas, including policy, research, statutory interpretation, estate planning, business structuring, and risk management.

Admission Requirements

• Successful completion of a four-year honours degree, or equivalent, with at least a 75% average is required.
• Alternatively, a three-year degree, or equivalent, with at least a 75% average, 8 years of Canadian tax-related work experience showing career advancement, and a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score of at least 550, or equivalent Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score.
• A one-page statement detailing interest in the Master of Taxation program.
• Students will be assessed by an Admissions Committee.
• An interview may also be required.
• GMAT may be required for some applicants.

• Resume: Detailing the student's previous work experience.
• Statement of interest: A statement of maximum 500 words explaining interest in and fit for the program.
• Transcript(s)
• References: Two references are required, at least one academic.
• Proof of English language proficiency, if applicable: TOEFL 90 (writing 25, speaking 25), IELTS 7.0 (writing 6.5, speaking 6.5).
