Program Overview

EDGE Certificate

The EDGE certificate is an opt-in experiential education program designed for undergraduate students in regular (non-co-op) programs of study. This program allows students to develop professional skills, explore their career options, and learn how to market themselves to employers.

Program Design

EDGE is designed to be flexible, enabling students to complete the required milestones during any term and in almost any order, depending on their schedule and interests. Students can mix, match, and combine experiential learning courses, employment, and volunteering opportunities to find the EDGE that's right for them.

Benefits of EDGE

By completing EDGE, students will develop a wide range of employer-friendly skills. They will further refine those skills by reflecting on their experiences. The program is designed to encourage students to put the skills and behaviors they've developed into practice.

Milestones and Experiences

Students can start planning their journey through EDGE by reviewing the milestone opportunities. If they have already successfully completed multiple terms at the University of Waterloo, they may be eligible for select EDGE milestones.
