Program Overview
Master of Science in Information Technology and Management
The Master of Science in Information Technology and Management program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of information technology and management. The program offers two options: a thesis option and a master's project option.
Thesis Option
The thesis option requires students to complete a minimum of 32 credit hours, including:
- Core courses (9 credit hours)
- Select a minimum of three credit hours from Software Development:
- ITMD 510: Object-Oriented Application Development (3 credit hours)

- ITMD 555: Open-Source Intelligent Device Applications (3 credit hours)
- ITMD 566: Service-Oriented Architectures (3 credit hours)
- ITMO 533: Enterprise Server Administration (3 credit hours)

- ITMT 591: Independent Study and Research (5-8 credit hours)
- Elective courses (15-18 credit hours)
- Select 15-18 credit hours from any 500-level ITM, ITMD, ITMM, ITMO, ITMS, ITMT, or TECH courses selected with the student's adviser.
Master's Project Option
The master's project option requires students to complete a minimum of 32 credit hours, including:
- Core courses (9 credit hours)

- Elective courses (15-18 credit hours)
- Select 15-18 credit hours from any 500-level ITM, ITMD, ITMM, ITMO, ITMS, ITMT, or TECH courses selected with the student's adviser.
Minimum degree credits required: 32
Courses from other departments may be selected with adviser approval. Students may select project courses ITMT 594 or ITMT 597 as electives, but a maximum combined total of eight credit hours of ITMT 591, ITMT 594, and ITMT 597 may be applied toward the degree requirements.
