Program Overview
Advanced Water Cycle Management
The course will initially provide the student with a review of the three main themes at the course, ground water resource management, water distribution, and wastewater handling. This leaves the student with a general overview of the entire water cycle. After the initial week of general introduction to the entire water cycle the participants will be divided in three groups representing the three main topics so that they can be taught and obtain in-depth knowledge about the chosen topic. In connection with the extensive representation of leading industry experts there will be on-site visits to Grundfos, Kamstrup A/S, AVK International, SkyTEM Aps, Skanderborg Forsyningsvirksomhed – Aquaglobe and Aarhus Water. The on-site training will complement classroom teaching. Here water technologies in actual use are showcased to the students providing a unique learning environment and vehicle for further discussion, idea generation and critical reflection. The group assignment during the second half of the course is conducted in groups of four students. When signing up for the course, the student will be asked to indicate subject of interest (ground water resource mapping and management, water distribution, and wastewater handling) by priority. With the assistance from the teachers of the course, a specific topic within the three main subjects will be analyzed and alternative solutions to the mainstream approaches will be discussed in detail. The topics analyzed will be actual case stories/challenges from the water sector.
