The Multimodal Anthropology - Experimental Approaches course is an immersive introduction to the realm of multimodal anthropology, focusing on the practical application of audio-visual and diverse multimodal methodologies within the sphere of social science research.

Course Description

This course serves as a hands-on introduction to multimodal anthropology, encouraging participants to think beyond the usual boundaries of social sciences and reflect critically on how knowledge is produced. It teaches students to effectively communicate research findings using various media and introduces them to a range of multimedia tools, including film, photography, sound, and digital/social media.

Course Objectives

• Learn how to incorporate multimodal elements into research projects.
• Understand how to conduct fieldwork projects applying multimodal anthropology concepts.
• Develop skills in creating a meaningful multimodal anthropology project that reflects insights into specific cultures or societal aspects.

Admission Requirements

• To apply for the course, students must either be enrolled in a bachelor's degree, have a bachelor's degree, or have passed a qualifying entry examination.
• Exchange students: nomination from their home university.
• Freemovers: documentation for English Language proficiency.

• Freemovers, NON-EU/EEA: 1400 EUR.
• Books, course materials, social programme, and housing are not included in the fee.
