Program Overview
Six Sigma Design and Innovation
The Six Sigma Design and Innovation course is a part of the AU Summer University program. This course has developed largely in parallel with and complementary to Lean Enterprise theory and methods, often referred to as ‘Lean Six Sigma’. It addresses innovation in design of products, production processes, and services through a ‘lean lens’, which is highly resource sensitive, or a ‘lean and green’ lens, which embeds social and ecological considerations. The course utilizes algorithms, such as the DMAIC process (define, measure, analyze, improve, control), to provide a structured approach to innovation and design.
