In the first semester, students study Value Creation in the Digital Economy and gain insight into the critical role of digital transformation. In the second semester, the course Organising for Digital examines how organisations can develop structures and processes to effectively leverage new digital opportunities.
- Technological perspective: This perspective equips students with a digital mindset that enables them to understand the technical foundations of digitalisation and the business potential of emerging technologies. In the first semester, the Digital Fundamentals for Emerging Technologies course introduces students to key technological concepts and provides hands-on programming experience. The Enterprise Architecture Management course in the second semester focuses on integrating technology with business operations.
- Data perspective: This perspective provides students with a comprehensive understanding of advanced methods. In the first semester, Research Methods for Digital Business introduces quantitative and qualitative methods, while the Data Science for Business course in the second semester teaches students to apply data-driven methods in decision-making processes and problem-solving in business contexts.

- International and other qualifications: This section is relevant for you if you have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an institution outside of Denmark or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a Danish institution that does not ensure you a 'Legal right of admission' or 'Direct admission'.
- General admission requirement: You must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent that is comparable to a Danish Bachelor's degree in both level and duration (180 ECTS).
- Specific admission requirements: If you meet the general admission requirement, the university will continue to assess whether you meet the specific admission requirements. - Bachelor's degree programme in Economics and Business Administration (HA)
- Direct admission: Certain Bachelor's degree programmes from Aarhus University and various other Danish Universities have been determined to meet the admission requirements to this Master's degree programme in Digital Business Management:
- Bachelor's degree programme in Economics and Business Administration (HA) from Aarhus University
- Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration with supplementary subject (Erhvervsøkonomi med tilvalg) at study plan 2017 and onwards from Aarhus University
- Bachelor's degree programme in Economics and Business Administration (HA - general business economics) from Copenhagen Business School, University of Southern Denmark, Aalborg University, or Roskilde University
English Language Requirements
In order to be admitted to this programme, you must meet the university's English language requirements. Students with a Bachelor's degree from Aarhus University with a so-called 'Legal right of admission' are exempt from the English language requirement.
Programme Structure
The study programme consists of two semesters in the first year, which cover the compulsory courses in the programme specialisation, and two semesters in the last year, which are reserved for the student's own specialisation.
- First semester: You follow the prerequisite courses that form the methodological and academic basis for the further study programme.
- Second semester: You follow the specialisation courses of the programme.
- Third semester: You can choose elective courses within your areas of interest. The courses can either be taken at Aarhus BSS during the semester, at the Summer University, or at one of our more than 300 partner universities abroad. You can also participate in project-based internship programmes either in Denmark or abroad.
- Fourth semester: This is devoted to the final thesis. You may choose the topic of the thesis freely and get a chance to concentrate on and specialise in a specific field of interest. The thesis may be written in collaboration with another student or it may be the result of your individual effort.
