Master's Degree Programme in Strategic Communication
Introduction
The Master's Degree Programme in Strategic Communication is designed to provide students with a strategic and managerial approach to communication, focusing on the actual processes and practice of communication and communication management. The programme prepares students for handling diverse communications challenges facing contemporary public and private organisations and agencies.
Programme Structure
The programme consists of four semesters:
- First Semester:
- Strategic Leadership: Psychology and Practice (10 ECTS)
- Organisational Theory (10 ECTS)
- Methods in Strategy, Organisation and Leadership (10 ECTS)
- Second Semester:
- Corporate Communication (10 ECTS)
- Organisational Change and Leadership (10 ECTS)
- Human Resource Management and Development (10 ECTS)
- Third Semester:
- Elective Courses (30 ECTS)
- Fourth Semester:
- Master's Thesis (30 ECTS)
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Master's Degree Programme in Strategic Communication, applicants must meet the general admission requirement and the specific admission requirements.
- General Admission Requirement:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent that is comparable to a Danish bachelor's degree in both level and duration (180 ECTS).
- Specific Admission Requirements:
- The university assesses whether the applicant's education has a level, scope, and content that corresponds to the academic requirements specified below.

- Methods: 10 ECTS within quantitative methods or statistics (only 5 ECTS can be covered by Mathematics)
- Marketing: 7.5 ECTS
- Finance: 7.5 ECTS
- Accounting: 7.5 ECTS
- Organisation and leadership theory: 7.5 ECTS
- Microeconomics: 5 ECTS
- Operations management: 5 ECTS
- Additional ECTS points within the abovementioned areas: 20 ECTS
- Bachelor's project: 10 ECTS
- Total: 85 ECTS
English Language Requirements
Applicants must meet the university's English language requirements. Students with a bachelor's degree from Aarhus University with a so-called 'Legal right of admission' are exempt from the English language requirement.
