Supragingival Tandrensning

Description
This course provides practical and theoretical prerequisites for performing supragingival tooth cleaning as a delegated task in a dental clinic.
Content
- Pathology (gingivitis and periodontitis)
- External and internal discolorations
- Removal of supragingival soft and hard deposits and discolorations with hand instruments and mechanical cleaning
- Ergonomics and finger support
- Maintenance of instruments
- Guidance of patients, including health promotion and appreciative communication
- Knowledge of general diseases and their medical significance in relation to supragingival tooth cleaning
Target Group
The course is offered as a single subject in the ordinary vocational training for dental clinic assistants and is tailored to the goals and framework of the training.
Structure
The teaching is planned with significant student participation. It takes place in a mix of lectures, exercises, and problem-solving, for which students must prepare in advance.
The course lasts 1 week (4 consecutive days and 1 day after approximately 3 weeks). During the intervening period, the student performs tooth cleaning on 5 patients at the clinic.
Course materials will either be sent to the student or distributed during the teaching.
Upon completion of the course, an evaluation is conducted according to the 7-step scale. Upon satisfactory completion of the course and achieving a grade of 02 or higher, a course certificate is issued.
