The Information Engineering major aims to equip students with a balanced understanding of the theory and applications of information engineering. This encompasses networking and communications, algorithms and optimization, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and signal processing. The program offers all-round education, nurturing independent thinking, creativity, and various soft skills.

The major has been accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, one of the educational requirements for obtaining Charter status.
