Program Overview
MSc in Business and Data Analytics (Quantitative Analysis for Business)
The MSc in Business and Data Analytics (Quantitative Analysis for Business) program is designed for students who want to pursue a career path where statistical data analysis has a significant role.
Introduction
The program welcomes students who have studied at least one undergraduate course in calculus or linear algebra. Applicants without a background in statistics and programming are also welcome.
Admission Requirements and Selection Criteria
- Graduates of non-English-speaking institutions must meet the following minimum English proficiency requirements:
- TOEFL Score: a score of 59 (revised paper-delivered test) or 79 (internet-based test)
- IELTS Score: 6.5 (overall band score)
- CET6 Score: 450
- Or equivalent
- TOEFL and IELTS scores are considered valid for two years. Applicants must provide their English test results obtained within the two years preceding the commencement of the University's application period.
- Admission consideration is based on the candidate's academic performance in previous studies, relevant working experience (if any), and the candidate's motivation and potential.
Credit Transfer
Students with postgraduate training from a recognized university can shorten their study via credit transfer. Credit transfer will be considered on a course-to-course basis and only for the core courses of the program. A maximum of 6 credit units can be transferred to the program.
Special Note to Mainland Applicants
Non-local students who have obtained an undergraduate or higher qualification in a full-time and locally-accredited program in Hong Kong may apply to stay/return and work in the HKSAR under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG).
