Program Overview
Program Overview
The program in question is the "基础植物克隆技术与应用" (Basic Plant Cloning Technology and Application) course, which is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary course that combines biological knowledge with related scientific principles from plant physiology, horticulture, and seed science. The course aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of plant cell totipotency, cell dedifferentiation, and redifferentiation, as well as basic research skills, including literature reading, experimental design, data recording, and paper writing.
Course Description
The course is designed to be a "博雅技艺" (Boya Skills) class, which is a type of general education course that focuses on developing students' skills and knowledge in a specific area. The course covers topics such as:
- Induction of callus tissue
- Organogenesis regulation
- Artificial seed production
- Acclimatization of tissue-cultured seedlings
Course Objectives
The course objectives include:
- To understand the concept of plant cell totipotency
- To understand the basic principles of plant cell dedifferentiation and redifferentiation
- To develop basic research skills, including literature reading, experimental design, data recording, and paper writing
- To explore the application of new materials and technologies in plant cloning
Course Team
The course team consists of:
- Course leader: 徐程 (Xu Cheng)
- Team members: 何磊 (He Lei), 莫肖蓉 (Mo Xiao Rong), 沈小仙 (Shen Xiao Xian), 蒋琴素 (Jiang Qin Su)
Course Honors
The course has been awarded the title of "浙江省级一流课程" (Zhejiang Provincial First-Class Course).
Additional Information
The course is supported by the 浙江大学生物学国家级实验教学示范中心 (Zhejiang University Biology National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center).
