The School of Nursing at Yale University offers various programs, including the Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) Programs.
Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) Programs
The D.N.P. Programs are designed to provide advanced education in nursing practice. The programs have the following aims and assumptions:

D.N.P. Project
All students in the D.N.P. Programs are required to complete a D.N.P. project. The project must be evidence-based and aligned with the specific program requirements. For the Leadership Program, projects may include:

- Safety/quality organizational projects
- Community-based and healthcare policy initiatives For the Clinical Program, projects may include:
- Clinical guideline development
- Clinical practice innovation projects
- Safety/quality clinical practice projects
- Clinical policy and protocol change
Program Requirements
The D.N.P. Programs have the following requirements:
- Completion of a D.N.P. project
- Participation in a final-year immersion experience
- Completion of all required coursework
Master’s Program (M.S.N.)
The Master’s Program (M.S.N.) is designed to provide advanced education in nursing practice. The program has the following requirements:
- Completion of all required coursework
- Participation in a final-year immersion experience
Post-Master’s Certificates
The Post-Master’s Certificates are designed to provide advanced education in specific areas of nursing practice. The certificates have the following requirements:
- Completion of all required coursework
- Participation in a final-year immersion experience
Doctor of Philosophy Program
The Doctor of Philosophy Program is designed to provide advanced education in nursing research. The program has the following requirements:
- Completion of all required coursework
- Participation in a dissertation
