Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate (AMDP)
The Advanced Management Development Program (AMDP) is a one-year executive development program with five weeks of on-campus terms. Upon completion, participants become Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) Associate Members. A new class begins each year in July.
Program Overview
The AMDP is Harvard’s premier advanced leadership program in real estate, offering a unique combination of design and real estate education. Participants engage in dynamic projects that expand the limits of their knowledge, learn from world-class faculty and industry experts, and become Harvard alumni with access to a Harvard network.
Program Schedule
The AMDP program requires individuals to attend 5 weeks of on-campus “Terms” as well as 4 Elective Units. In between terms, participants are engaged remotely in the collaborative Team Project (between terms 1 and 2) and an Independent Project (between terms 2 and 3).
Admissions
- Proficiency in English and local residency during the program are required.
- Participants will have many years of real estate-related experience with proven success in leadership roles.
Curriculum and Projects
- The case study method is the primary form of instruction.
- Participants attend an average of fifteen 90-minute sessions per week during on-campus terms, with sessions in the following areas:
- Leadership
- Development
- Finance
- Planning
- Design
- Technology
- Strategy
Electives
Electives give each AMDP participant the opportunity to explore the subjects most relevant to them and their goals.

- AMDP sessions are led by renowned Harvard faculty from the Graduate School of Design, Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Law School, and Harvard College.

- Term 1: July 6-16, 2026 (two weeks) – no sessions on July 11 & 12 (weekend)
