Civic Leadership in the Superintendency: Leading During Turbulent Times
This advanced institute is designed to help superintendents hone their proactive political leadership skills. The program includes:
- Three days of in-person learning at Harvard Graduate School of Education
- Six live Zoom follow-up sessions
- The program welcomes interest and applications from all practitioners in the field
Program Details
The institute includes a combination of in-person and online learning.
- Three days in-person at Harvard Graduate School of Education
- Six live Zoom follow-up sessions to occur once monthly for six months
- The Zoom sessions will use breakout rooms to create smaller communities of practice
Learning Goals
In the on-campus gathering and the live Zoom sessions that follow, participants will learn to:
- Maintain personal resilience in the face of political pressures and conflicts
- Improve ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Identify key players, power dynamics, and potential allies and adversaries
- Build coalitions to support educational initiatives
- Mobilize diverse groups towards common goals
