Program Overview

The Data Science Professional Certificate program is designed to provide learners with the fundamental knowledge of data science, including essential data science skills such as data wrangling, programming with R, data visualization, and other skills.

Program Structure

• The program consists of 9 courses that can be bundled together to receive a professional certificate at a discounted price.
• The program takes approximately 1 year and 5 months to complete.
• Learners can complete the courses across different runs of the course, but each individual course must be completed within the same course run.

Course Details

• Data Science: Capstone: This course is the final project of the Data Science Professional Certificate program, where learners apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the series to a real-world problem.

• Data Science: Probability: This course teaches learners about probability.

• Data Science: Building Machine Learning Models: This course teaches learners how to build machine learning models.

Faculty

• Rafael Irizarry: Professor of Biostatistics, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
  • Dr. Irizarry's research has focused on the analysis of genomics data.
  • He is one of the founders of the Bioconductor Project, an open source and open development software project for the analysis of genomic data.

Program Details

• Prerequisites: No prerequisites are required, but courses later in the series will assume learners have the knowledge and skills acquired from earlier courses.
• Certificate: A Verified Certificate costs $149 and provides unlimited access to full course materials, activities, tests, and forums.
• Audit Option: Learners can Audit the course for free and have access to select course material, activities, tests, and forums, but this track does not offer a certificate for learners who earn a passing grade.
